So a few weeks back I got the news that I've been accepted to serve in the youth worship ministry as a drummer (awesome, because now my two biggest passions are conjoined! Yay!). But of course before I can start serving during service (haha), I have to go for some training.
My heart sunk when I discovered that training would take place on Saturday, 10AM-12.30PM. That timing happens to clash with school rehearsals, which run from 9AM to 6PM.
Before I went for the drum tryouts, I told myself that if the training clashed with rehearsals, I'd excuse myself from rehearsals. Satirically enough, that same week I received news of the timing for drum training, my director texted me saying that I was being irresponsible (I didn't know that I had a braces appointment on the same day as rehearsals, so I only told him the day before). Yeah. So it was the worst possible situation to ask if I could be excused from rehearsals for two and a half hours every week.
Yeah, haha, I know right now you're probably reading this going, "I THOUGHT SHE SAID THIS WAS GOOD NEWS".
No, I said it was great news. Because today, one of the drummers approached me, asking why I hadn't gone for training yesterday. I guiltily informed him that I'd actually texted two of the other drummers saying I couldn't go for another month or so, because of school rehearsals, and I was really sorry. To my surprise, he said "okay, then we'll just do training on another day!" I looked at him and asked, "but isn't that really inconvenient? What about the other drummers? Then you guys have to come back to church an extra time..." To which he replied, "no, you're the only drummer we accepted into training", explaining that then it was up to my timing when training would be.
Praise The Lord. He really has a way of making things just work out. I love you, God (:
God bless!
