When I first opened the Bible to 1 Chronicles 10, which is about Saul killing himself, I was confused because I couldn't see how this could really speak to me.
But when I started reading, I started to feel sad for Saul. I started to pity him. He had gone out of his way to get answers - he consulted a medium! - and now he was killing himself. Not only that, after he died, the Philistines simply raided his body and left him. Basically, the answers he had gotten from the medium weren't the answers he really needed, and he shouldn't have gone behind God's back like that anyway.
1 Chronicles 10:14 kind of explained everything to me. It says that Saul was paying the price for "not [inquiring] of the Lord".
This struck me because recently, I've found myself searching desperately for human approval. So was Saul, and look what happened to him!
Long story short, I felt like this was God's way of telling me once again to find approval and answers in Him alone. Thanks God (:
God bless!
